Boys to Men Empowerment Program (BTMEP)
Program Objective: To empower young men between the ages of 10-17 in our community to make positive life choices that enable them to maximize their personal potential and lead healthy non violent lives. Through collaborative programming with schools and other community-based organizations, we provide educational, social, and mentoring opportunities to enhance the academic performance, community connections, and career options of the youth.
The program has various parts and they are:
Domestic Violence Hotline:
We will have a local and a 1-800 Number that will be used for teens that may be in a violent relationship. The number will have a list of resources and will have a voice mail for a teen to leave a message and a facilitator to contact him/her back.
Family Discussion-
We will help facilitate family discussions about Domestic Violence. We will help a teen prepare for a discussion with parents. We will also, sit in while parents and teens talk about the issue of Domestic Violence.
Boys to Men Empowerment -School based program
Mission Statement
The Boys to Men Empowerment -School edition program is to empower young men between the ages of 12-18 in our community to make positive life choices that enable them to maximize their personal potential and lead healthy non violent lives. Through collaborative programming with schools and other community-based organizations, we provide educational, social, and mentoring opportunities to enhance the academic performance, community connections, and career options of the youth.
Say No To Teen Dating Violence
Program Objective: To empower young men and women between the ages of 15-19 in our community to make positive life choices that enable them to maximize their personal potential and lead healthy non violent lives. We will be a resource for victims of dating violence as well as for the aggressor in the relationship. Through collaborative programming with schools and other community-based organizations, we provide for kids that may be in a violent relationship.
Program Details: The program is an ongoing program that can be tailored to fit schools and other organizations.
Group Discussions:
We will have weekly group discussions to talk about teen violence, the signs, and symptoms and how to get help. These group discussions will be open to parents.
Referrals-
We will be connected to the various Domestic Violence organizations in the area to send child and parents to in order to receive additional assistance if experiencing domestic violence.
Safety Planning-
We will work with teens to determine the best safe course of action for ending a violent relationship.
